Over the past 35 years Dennis Moss Partnership has developed into a practice internationally recognised for its expertise in the field of sustainable development and sustainability.

Our History

Dennis Moss Partnership (DMP) was established in 1983 with the vision of integrating the disciplines of urban, regional planning and design, architecture, landscape architecture and the environmental sciences as a single functional entity.

One of the founding objectives of DMP is to apply sustainable development principles to all spheres of its activities and to ensure practical results to help eradicate poverty and inequality while protecting the integrity of the environment.

Our firm is recognised by UNESCO as international experts in the disciplines of bioregional planning and its MAB Programme, which have global sustainability as a central goal.

Our Team

DMP has a staff of 45 people representing all the professional disciplines of the office in a manner which gives practical effect to a culture of integration, sustainable development and sustainability. A majority of the staff have been with the office for more than a decade with many staff members being in the practice for twenty years and more.

Directors

Dennis Moss

B.A. M(URP) Stellenbosch University. Post graduate programme in urban design Stellenbosch University.

Following on 12 years in consulting civil and structural engineering, Dennis founded DMP in 1983 with the specific objective to integrate the disciplines of urban, regional and environmental planning, urban design, architecture and landscape architecture.

Under his leadership the practice has played a leading role, over the past 30 years, in the provision of an integrated multidisciplinary planning and design service on the international, national, provincial, district and local levels, specialising in sustainable development and sustainability.

Gys de Klerk

B.Econ M(URP) Stellenbosch University

Gys began his career at the Municipality of Stellenbosch where he went on to become chief urban and regional planner.

He joined DMP in 1987 and became actively involved in a variety of planning and multi-disciplinary projects such as resort developments, housing projects and numerous regional and urban planning initiatives.

Over the past 30 years Gys has overseen project management and co-ordination of many of the major projects that the firm has been involved in.

Jeff Lackay

Pr. Arch.T. Cape Town University of Technology

Jeff joined DMP in 1989 and has been involved on various projects, ranging from commercial, offices, restorations of historic buildings, resort developments , golf estates, retail centers and numerous housing developments.

For the past 20 years he has provided specialist design services in the planning and design of lower income settlements. A number of these projects have won local and national awards for design excellence.

Martina Le Roux-Cloete

Pr Arch, BAS, B Arch (University of Cape Town), MIArch, CIA

Martina has been with DMP for more than 20 years and has been involved in a vast and varied scope of work.

She has a wide range of experience in the residential, recreational, hospitality, restoration, commercial/retail and institutional fields of architecture.

Some of the projects that Martina has been involved in have received national awards.
