Preferred Land Development Holdings (Pty) Ltd acquired approximately 1100 ha of land at Osona, in Okahandja municipal area, approximately 60km north of Windhoek, Namibia. The property is roughly equivalent to 50% of the area of the land designated for urban development of Okahandja town as a whole.
The objective is to invest in the development of a new settlement comprising approximately 10,000 dwellings, a vocational training campus, a light industrial area, land for institutional and commercial buildings and, in consultation with the Wugge family from Okahandja (who own the land along Osona’s northern boundary), prepare a concept development plan for an Innovation hub and associated land uses (technology, residential, commercial) along the northern boundary of Osona for feasibility study purposes.
The preparation of this Sustainability Framework commenced on 31 October 2014 and was undertaken in two stages. Stage 1 comprised the preparation of an Inception Phase Report as well as a Phase 1 Model Plan that was completed on 30 April 2015. Stage 2 of the work was undertaken in accordance with Preferred Management Services (PMS) detailed instructions to this firm including a delivery programme for the period May 2015 / March 2016.
